SOS SIGNS OF STRUGGLE are images from Jim Alexander’s ongoing photo documentary project, SPIRITS/MARTYRS/HEROES, which he started in 1968 following the assassination of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His relationship to these images has been as a participant observer at marches, rallies, meetings and other human rights and cultural activities around the country and abroad wherever his budget would allow him to go.
